EPI Consulting LLC (hereafter referred to as “EPI”) recognizes the importance of protecting personal information while providing services on its website. Besides abiding with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, EPI has established the following Privacy Policy (hereafter referred to as “the Policy”).

Article 1 (Definition of personal information)

‘Personal information’ refers to information defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, specifically any information related to an identified or identifiable living individual(name, date of birth, address…..). This definition includes any standalone information that distinguishes an individual, such as insurance identification numbers on a health insurance card.

EPI may request the personal information of a client, such as name, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, and other pertinent details, when the client registers as a user of EPI’s services.

EPI uses personal information for the following purposes:

  2. To respond to inquiries from customers, including verifying the identity of the customer.

    • 1-3. When the provision of personal information is permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other applicable laws.
  2. Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, in the following cases, the recipient of the information shall not be considered a third party:
    • 2-1. When EPI entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the intended purpose of use.
    • 2-2. When personal information is provided as part of a business succession due to a merger or other circumstances.
    • 2-3. When personal information is jointly used with specific entities, provided that the individual is notified in advance or the information is made readily accessible to the individual regarding the fact of such joint use, the items of personal information to be jointly used, the scope of entities jointly using the information, the purpose of use by the entities, and the name or title of the person responsible for managing the said personal information.

Article 7 (Procedures for Personal Information)

EPI will disclose personal information or records of provision to third parties upon request by the customer, except in the following cases:

  1. When disclosure could potentially harm the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the individual or a third party.
  2. When disclosure could significantly hinder the proper execution of EPI’s operations.
  3. When disclosure would constitute a violation of applicable laws or regulations.
  4. When it cannot be confirmed that the disclosure request is being made by the individual themselves.

Article 8 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information)

If a customer requests the suspension or deletion of personal information on the grounds that it is being handled beyond the scope of the intended purpose of use or that it was obtained through fraudulent means, EPI will promptly take measures to suspend or delete the use of the said personal information.

Article 9 (Handling of Cookies)

  1. The overview of information collected from customers visiting the website:
    On accessing our website, the following information may be collected from customers:
    • ・Information used to identify devices (Cookie data, unique device identification numbers)
    • ・Usage environment of the customer (IP address, OS, browser details, etc.), location information
    • ・Browsing history of the customer within the website (access history)
    • This information is mainly recorded automatically through Cookies when customers interact with the website. Cookies can be disabled or deleted by changing the browser settings. However, this may lead to certain service malfunctions, so it is recommended to keep Cookies enabled.
      Cookies: A mechanism that stores server information on the customer’s computer. It records the date and time of the last visit, visit frequency, and input information, allowing the customer to easily use the functions previously selected. Note that Cookies can identify the customer’s computer but do not include personal information such as name, address, phone number, or email address.
      Access History (Access Logs): Information such as the domain name and IP address, browser and OS type, access time, and the pages viewed by customers is included. Note that personal information is not included.
  2. Purpose of Using Cookies:
    EPI utilizes the cookies collected for the following purposes:
    ・Maintenance of the website and service improvement
    ・Development and improvement of products and services
    ・Offering product and service suggestions to customers
  3. Regarding the Use of Google Analytics:
    To understand customer visit history on the website, EPI uses Google Analytics provided by Google LLC. For information on the collection and processing of data by Google Analytics, please refer to Google’s official privacy policy.
    • If customers do not wish to have their data collected by Google Analytics, they can opt-out via the browser settings. To opt-out of Google Analytics, install the ‘Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on’ and change the browser settings.

Article 10 (Obtainment of IP addresses)

The EPI website obtains the IP addresses of visitors. The obtained IP addresses are used for website administration purposes only.
